Idle Forge 1.4.0 Preview
Version 1.4.0 shaped the branding, shop readiness, combat readability, forge feedback, and UI polish work that later updates continue to build on.
Why it changed
The 1.4.0 work is about making Idle Forge feel more finished from the first impression onward: a stronger logo, a new app icon, a more readable combat and forge loop, and the first public support pages needed for optional in-app purchases.
Player highlights
- New Idle Forge logo and app icon
- Optional in-app purchases prepared for gems, shards, dungeon keys, coin rewards and permanent unlocks
- Animated hero combat visuals, including visible equipped gear for Common, Uncommon, and Rare items
- Smoother enemy movement, boss intros, combat effects, and death poofs
- Stronger forge feedback with rarity effects, sound, and haptics
- A cleaner Stats screen with an animated hero preview and updated stat icons
- Clearer early progression, locked-feature feedback, and notification-style unlocks
- UI polish across Contracts, Daily Dungeons, Progression Guide, Forge Upgrade, and Equipment Compare
- Better Android stability, crash diagnostics, and combat/parallax fixes
Technical notes
- Purchase rewards are validated before they are added to the player save, so completed purchases can be retried safely if delivery is interrupted.
- Permanent unlocks are tracked as account entitlements, while consumable rewards are granted through the game economy.
- The website now includes Terms of Service and an updated Privacy Policy that explain purchases, store-processed payments and purchase validation in player-friendly language.
- Website assets are compressed to keep the page sharp without shipping oversized files to every visitor.
Notes
This update is not about adding a large new progression layer yet. It is about making the core loop feel more alive and easier to read: fighting, forging, comparing gear, checking stats, unlocking features, and recovering safely from network or platform hiccups.
The hero and combat presentation are getting the most visible changes. Equipped gear is shown on the animated hero for Common, Uncommon, and Rare items, while higher rarities keep their correct item stats and rarity but temporarily reuse available visuals until dedicated art is ready.
There is also stability work under the hood around Android builds, combat recovery, purchase delivery, cloud-backed player progress and release validation. The public notes stay intentionally high level so players understand what changed without exposing internal implementation details.
